More than just Meditation

Taming the Mind is a small group-mindfulness event combining Daosit guided meditation and movement practice in company with horses. Using a combination of on and off lead guidance, participants will witness how horses reflect human energy and help them explore the natural flow of energy.

What to Expect

You will be guided through standing and seated meditation in the company of free-roaming horses.  The horses move naturally within the space and may choose to approach or connect with you during the meditation. Through both on‑lead and free interaction, the horses naturally mirror inner states, offering profound insight into presence.

Our Hearts as One

Horses carry a presence that reaches far beyond their physical form. Science tells us their hearts radiate an electromagnetic field five times larger than our own, surrounding us in a sphere of calm energy. During our retreat, you’ll be guided into this living field of presence. The horses ask nothing of you but authenticity. They don’t judge, they don’t demand—they simply invite you to be. In their company, you’ll discover a space where science meets soul, and where healing happens quietly, naturally, and profoundly.

Daoism and the
Horse-mind 意馬

In Daoist tradition, the wild horse represents the will, our vital drive, desires, and emotions. The horse-mind 意馬 is powerful, instinctive, and full of spirit, but without guidance it can carry us into distraction or agitation. The practice of taming is not about control or suppression, but about gentling, harmonizing, and returning to balance.

Through meditation and movement, we learn to approach the will as a skilled trainer approaches a spirited horse—with patience, consistency, and compassion. Through this we will see the gradual process of transformation, from outer restlessness to inner stillness, from separation to unity.
